Origin
Why Es Niu?
Es Niu presides over the town from the green hills of Tamarindos, the trees, which one senses, that gave Tamariu its name.
The hostel has the name of the oldest dish in Palafrugell. The original recipe was made with cod, hard-boiled egg and potato. Over the years, fishermen added cuttlefish and other ingredients. This was the slow-cooked dish that fishermen often ate in their barracks.
